VISITING PLACES AND MUSEUMS

As lovers of our small country and our culture, my husband and I wanted to show James a beautiful place that could also have an artistic interest for him.


That was a reason, for which we began to visit Sitges and we continue to show Tossa de Mar, a small area of ​​the Costa Brava, Olot and its volcano region, also visited Castell Follit de la Roca, Besalú, Girona , Figueres, Cadaqués, etc.

SITGES.- Mar i Cel & Cau Ferrat.

Like a lover's own little contry, we wanted to show it to James beautiful places whit also it have a artistic interes from him.

In the Mar i Cel museum, James and I started a fun game, I read aloud all the description in the museum in Englis, of course, and then he read aloud in catalan.

This innocent game made me realize that both, a Catalan learn English or a British, learn Catalan, we have had the same difficulties.

I thought that was a clever mean to learn and feel that we were sharing our knowledge.

I dowload museum app and I could read and listening explanation about different canvas or portraits, and then I could to coment with James.


I discovered that I shared the same preferents about picture and we love the same artists as Rusiñol, Casas, Fortuny, Sunyer, Vayreda, etc.

OLOT.- Exposition about canvas "la càrrega" by Casas.

Another Easter day we went to the region of La Garrotxa and we showed him the most representative places near Olot, such as Castellfollit de la Roca, Besalú, etc.

We visited the Olot Museum, where we could see the temporary exhibition of the current vision of other artists about "la càrrega" by Casas.

Here we can see how James carefully observes the painting.

During this day we went to visit and eat in Castellfollit de la Roca, where James took some notes on the landscape and with few brushstrokes captured the lights of the atmosphere in his drawing. Then we had a meal and enjoyed eating and typical dishes.




James usually eats vegetarian food, that's why I discovered some delicious dishes with him. However, we ate at different restaurants, sometimes we went to vegetarian restaurants, or typical Catalan restaurants, or Indian restaurants, as well as Italian restaurants. We also enjoyed sharing different dishes and different types of cuisine.

GIRONA.- Temporal exposition about Polish painter Mela Mutter and visiting jewish neibohood.

We visited Girona with your Jewish neiborhood, the old town, and we were tolking about the streets where was filmed some Game of Throns chapters.

We also visited an temporal exposition about a woman Jewish Polac who name was Mela Muter.

In this exhibition, we have enjoyed the reallisime of canvas. Especially, James enjoyed the portraits which are his specialty.

Afther we visited and walking arround different street in the old town, visiting the Cathedral, San Daniel and also the Jewish neighborhood.

ONE DAY WITH DALI: Dali's Museum on Figueres and walking on Cadaqués.

If James is a painter and visits Catalonia, he could not leave without visiting the Dalí museum.

That day was a fantastic day, it made sun, the blue sky, we went to Cadaqués to show James the colors and lights that Dali painted.
